The Mirka® DEROS II 5650 is a 125 mm / 150 mm direct electric random orbital sander developed for effective and dust-free sanding of all kinds of surfaces. This model has both a 150 mm and a 125 mm pad and 5.0 mm oscillation. The 5.0 mm oscillation is suitable for general purpose sanding, it is the oscillation most commonly used and achieves a good balance between stock removal and surface finish. Mirka® DEROS II 5650 is delivered in a high-quality plastic case, together with the 2-in-1 backing pad solution.

Edge finishing is often one of the most demanding steps in woodworking and surface preparation. Variations in material, whether raw wood, painted panels, or filled surfaces, require consistent pressure, a steady angle, and reliable dust management to achieve repeatable results. Manual edge sanding is time-consuming, inconsistent, and increases the risk of sanding through or creating an uneven surface.

The Mirka® Edge Guide is an edge sanding attachment for Mirka® DEROS II (and DEROS I) that simplifies edge sanding. Its design allows the sander to be guided along the workpiece at a controlled and adjustable angle from 45° to 90°, ensuring accurate and reproducible results. The full support of the guide minimises the risk of tilting or uneven sanding, while its ergonomic construction makes it possible to handle even large panels or workpieces comfortably.

The guide is simple to attach, requires no additional equipment, and makes edge sanding more efficient and reliable. This ease of use allows it to fit seamlessly into both industrial workflows and smaller workshops.

• The Edge Guide is only suitable for 125 mm and 150 mm (5” and 6”) DEROS II (and DEROS I) models
• Can be used freehand or with a guide rail for precise, consistent chamfers
• The Mirka® Edge Guide allows adjustment between 45° and 90° to accommodate different edge finishing tasks.
• 90° is used for standard edge sanding, where the goal is to keep the edge perfectly perpendicular to the surface. This is common for flat panels, cabinet doors, and painted or filled edges where maintaining a straight, square corner is required.
• 45° is used for bevel or chamfer sanding, when a slight angle is needed to break or shape the edge. This is typically done to remove sharp corners, prepare edges for coating, or create a defined bevelled profile on materials such as wood, MDF, or painted surfaces.
• Intermediate angles (for example, 60°–75°) can be used when a less aggressive bevel or specific design tolerance is required.
• This flexibility makes it possible to achieve consistent and repeatable results on different materials and edge profiles, from straight edges to slightly angled surfaces, ensuring the same professional finish every time.
