In response to the growing use of smartphones, the innovative DeWALT DCR002 Bluetooth® Adapter has been designed to provide radios with the ability to play audio directly from a user’s personal mobile device using simple-to-operate wireless Bluetooth technology.
The adapter is available for connection to either DAB or non-DAB digital radios featuring a 3.5mm auxiliary jack, including in-car systems and DeWALT’s full range of portable radios. With a single top-mounted button for added convenience, the unit can be paired quickly and easily to any portable audio player, tablet or smartphone with Bluetooth capability, thereby providing instantly streamed sound.
The compact adapter features USB charging, and its integral Lithium-ion battery provides more than seven hours of runtime, for a full day of streaming. Furthermore, to help prevent loss or damage when plugged into the auxiliary input, the DCR002 can be docked on the radio within a dedicated mounting clip.
As with every DeWALT product, the DCR002 Bluetooth Adapter adheres to the company’s renowned ‘Guaranteed Tough’ philosophy to ensure long-term durability and impact resistance.
Mark Douglas, Trade Marketing manager DeWALT UK said, “A growing number of professional tradesmen wish to access their preferred tracks and audio from their mobile device, either on the job site or whilst on the move. The DCR002 Bluetooth Adapter has been engineered to allow DEWALT end-users to transmit audio from their smartphone or tablet to any audio device – giving them the ultimate freedom to play their own choice of music.”
How does the DeWALT DCR002 Bluetooth Adapter work?
When connected to a radio, the DCR002 can be synchronised with a mobile device up to a distance of around 30 metres (100 feet), subject to the number of obstacles and reflective surfaces within the vicinity. Only one smartphone or tablet can be connected at any one time (re-pairing will be automatic for some upon turning on the adapter). Audio is controlled by the mobile device.
When an incoming call is received on a mobile phone, the Bluetooth adapter automatically pauses the audio stream while the user is engaged in conversation.
What is the range of the Bluetooth® adapter?
The range is approximately 30m, although obstacles and reflective surfaces may affect this.
What happens when your phone rings?
The Bluetooth® adapter will automatically pause the audio stream and the call will go to your phone as normal
Can I control music using the controls on my radio?
No, this technology (known as AVRCP) is not used on the Bluetooth® adapter.
Will I need to re-pair or re-connect to the adapter each time I use it?
It depends, some devices will connect automatically, some might require re-pairing.
The adapter will only remember one paired device, if you are using the adapter with more than one device you will need to disconnect the active device and re-pair the secondary device to switch.
